VETERANS' RESOURCES

The Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs was created in 1945 to consolidate separate veterans programs under one agency. Today, the WDVA provides grants and a variety of services to eligible Wisconsin veterans and their families.

Programs included in the department’s mission are the: Wisconsin Veterans Homes, Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemeteries, Veterans Administration Regional Claims Office, Military Funeral Honors Program, Veterans Assistance Program and the Wisconsin Veterans Museum. These programs are designed to provide health, educational assistance, economic assistance and other services to specified veterans of the armed forces of the United States.

Our Mission is to fulfill President Lincoln's promise “To care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow, and his orphan” by serving and honoring the men and women who are America’s veterans.

Iowa wants every veteran to make a successful transition back into civilian life and community. The Iowa Department of Veterans Affairs is here to help all veterans obtain services and benefits that they and their families are entitled to.

The Iowa Department of Veterans Affairs, Iowa Veterans Benefits, Iowa Veterans Home and Iowa Veterans Cemetery recognize and honor Iowa’s veterans and their families by providing the highest quality programs, services, and benefits.

WE HONOR OUR VETERANS

Purchasing a home in California can be a stressful process for the buyer (and seller too), bringing a mixture of emotions - excitement, nervousness, and uncertainty. We know, because we have helped thousands of veterans just like you to purchase a home. The key is to understand the basic steps in the home buying process.

We specialize in working with Active Military Personal and Veterans using VA Loans. One of our recent sales was working with a veteran who was currently deployed overseas. Working with his wife, we were able to get into contract a week after returning from a year long deployment using facetime and lots of photos.

It’s critical for military borrowers to use an Realtor who’s worked with VA loans and understands the program’s requirements.

If your PCS orders have you moving away, you may need to sell your home as soon as possible. Home hunting is often done from a distance and selling negotiations may have you communicating with your Realtor® from remote locations. Realtors who can maneuver through the agency's procedures can save borrowers from big-time hassles and headaches on things like appraisals and property criteria.

Since the VA loan program's inception in 1944, the Department of Veterans Affairs has backed more than 21 million loans for veterans, active-duty military members, and their spouses. This program has made buying a home more accessible to those who most deserve the American dream they helped build and protect.

Most members of the regular military, veterans, reservists and National Guard are eligible to apply for a VA loan. Spouses of military members who died while on active duty or as a result of a service-connected disability also can apply.

You may also apply for eligibility if you fall into one of the following categories:

  • Certain U.S. citizens who served in the armed forces of a government allied with the United States in World War II

  • Individuals with service as members in certain organizations, such as Public Health Service officers, cadets at the United States Military, Air Force, or Coast Guard Academy, midshipmen at the United States Naval Academy, officers of National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration, merchant seaman with World War II service, and others

  • The property purchased with the prior VA loan has been sold and the loan paid in full.

  • A qualified Veteran-transferee (buyer) agrees to assume the VA loan and substitute his or her entitlement for the same amount of entitlement originally used by the Veteran seller. The entitlement may also be restored one time only if the Veteran has repaid the prior VA loan in full, but has not disposed of the property purchased with the prior VA loan.

I met LeNae at a listing of hers in Desoto about a year ago. While that wasn’t the right property, she listened to what I was looking for…and in spite of a very limited market found an ideal property for me. LeNae is hard working, knowledgeable and reliable.
